Swimming In God's Grace

Do I “Swim in God’s Grace?” Do I really accept the free gift he’s given? How is the Balance in my life between legalism/the law on one side of “the rope” and taking advantage of God’s Grace on the other side? If I “slip off the rope,” which side do I fall in?

If you slip off the rope...you fall straight down.

Think about it.
There's an awesome message in there somewhere.

I tend to fall towards trying to protect myself or do the work, or fight the battle, by placing those safeguards (or rules as Stan called them) against committing my handpicked "sins to avoid at all costs". And then I so identified with Stan's example of expecting others to adapt those same safeguards. I thought I was helping them, when I was really playing God for them. It all comes down to a trust issue with God. If you trust God to do the work and that He loves everyone, including yourself, and has our best interest at heart, then you won't try to do the work for Him.
